Why It’s Important To Eat Your Your Greens

Green foods are healthy foods for the body that contains high levels of mineral, vitamins and nutrients that is beneficial for the body. They also contain fiber to help the body get rid of wastes and flush out harmful toxins.

It would be good to know what green foods you can include in your diets that will provide you with all your needed nutrients.

Kale.

This green-leafy vegetable is one of the healthiest in the plant world and packs a lot of nutrients and health-promoting minerals. It has anti-inflammatory properties by reducing the effects of oxidative stress and contains over 45 antioxidants like flavonoids.

It also helps lower cholesterol levels in the body and rich in glucosinates that help prevent cancer.

Chlorella.

A cultivated blue-green algae native to Japan, it’s high levels of chlorophyll helps in detoxifying the blood and is rich in phytonutrients, minerals and protein.

Spirulina.

Also dubbed as one of the green superfoods like chlorella, it is rich in essential omega 3 fatty acids to help lower cholesterol and prevents heart disease. It is also high in antioxidants that fend off free radicals to prevent sickness and diseases.

Broccoli.

This is a cruciferous vegetable that the body needs to help promote a healthy heart and has been regarded as one of the healthiest foods around. It is rich in enzymes that detoxify toxic hormones by balancing its production in the body. It is rich in fiber, flavonoids and an assortment of vitamins and minerals.

Wheat grass.

Another green superfood, wheat grass contains potent antioxidants, enzymes and alkaline to help clean the blood. It has also been proven to help the healing of damaged tissues and cells.

Barley grass.

This superfood packs a lot of punch when it comes to nutrients and minerals. It is rich in chlorophyll and has high fiber content. It is also rich in highly potent antioxidants that fight off free radicals in the body and fights oxidative stress.

Matcha green tea.

Different from the standard green tea, matcha is a traditional Japanese green tea that has been used for thousands of years due to its powerful healing effects. High in antioxidants and contains nutrients that helps boost memory and mental concentration.
