It appears that a new research has some interesting findings about the age capacity of humans and how long can humans live. There’s now a definite number.

The record-holder for the longest living human was Jeanne Calment. She died when she was 122, on August 4, 1997.

However, the study now says that we’ve possibly reached our maximum capacity. Dr. Vijg shares his ideas about the results. It seems that humans are only capable of living until the age of 115.

Jan Vijg doubts we will see the likes of her again. True, people have been living to greater ages over the past few decades. But now, he says, we have reached the upper limit of human longevity. Read more…

Business Insider says that ever since, humans attempted to stop aging. They have tried numerous ways to prolong their lives. There have been improvements in terms of technology in the form of vaccinations and antibiotics and so on. However, these findings may be nature’s way of limiting the human capacity.

Some researchers think there’s a limit to how long humans can live

For thousands of years, throughout recorded history, people have searched for a way to live longer.

And we’ve made remarkable strides, especially in the past century and a half or so. But we may now be butting up against a natural limit to the human lifespan, according to an analysis published October 5 in Nature. Read more…

The Detroit Free Press reports that in the same study, the researchers examined the data involving mortality rates globally. They discovered that there have been improvements in reducing deaths for children, women, and elderly. However, they noted that it was slower for those who are aged 100 years old and above.

There were experts who mentioned that the study did not consider the advances in health as well as other techniques that were made to promote the extension of life. The aim is to develop treatments that can slow the aging process and help them become healthier.

Life expectancies in many countries have risen dramatically because of improvements in medical care and sanitation in the last century. The maximum age of death has also increased, leading some to believe that there’s no boundary to how long people can live. Read more…
