Late night snacks that are good need to be given priority when it comes to snacking especially when you are taking some quiet time to watch television or reading a book.

Late night snacks that are good for you

Many people believe in getting their daily solace and comfort from the hectic grind with a good set of finger foods to make them feel good and who doesn’t, it gives you that sense of fulfillment and a state of pure bliss if even just for a brief moment.

But eating at night, especially snacking before going to bed as you watch your favourite show or reading your book to finish a chapter, can be responsible for making you gain weight especially if you have calorie or fat-rich foods that help you gain more weight.

What you need are some healthy food choices, since eating these types of foods can even help boost your immune system and help speed up muscle recovery and growth to keep you grounded on your fitness goals.

Baby carrot fingers

Get a few sticks of baby carrot fingers that can give you the nutritious elements of carrots. Rich in Vitamin A, C and the potent antioxidant beta-carotene, you’d feel less guilty about having a few bites before retiring for the evening.

Slices of apple

Aside from getting a good fix of fiber, you may want to get additional doses of vitamins. A a teaspoon of butter to add some flavor textures then you can also get your good dose of protein that will help you feel full throughout the night.

A piece of banana

Bananas are loaded with a good amount of fiber and a relaxing substance called tryptophan that helps you feel relaxed. It also contains potassium to help you fill your daily needs to promote healthy organ function.

Almonds and cottage cheese

Both contain high amounts of protein, particularly whey and casein, which are essential muscle-building macronutrients. They also help curb appetites and slows down the digestion of proteins to enable essential amino acids to work its wonders for the body.

Ideal serving would be 1 cup of low-fat cottage cheese and 1ounce of almonds.

Casein and flax

Spend a few dollars more and invest in a couple of nutritious supplements that can help a lot in helping rebuild the armor that save my life.

Greek chia yoghurt

Loaded with a powerhouse of nutrients to help out with heart problems and is loaded with enough fibers and vitamins to give you that winning energy.
