Bacon and Sausage Sales Down After Reports of Cancer Risk

We all know that meat, when consumed beyond moderation, is bad for our health, but the majority of us do not know the actual effects. Common knowledge tells us that it increases blood pressure and cholesterol. The harms it poses to our health don’t really end there.

Just a few weeks ago, the World Health Organization made it clear that meat, particularly the processed ones, also causes certain types of cancers. This then caused bacon and sausage sales down. Read more in this report on Telegraph:

Thousands of health enthusiasts were happy that the report caused bacon and sausage sales down, among other processed meat, but it’s not such a good thing for various food companies.

However, if you’re one of those who cannot give up on animal products, you can try to turn down the heat when cooking them as it will lower the cancer risk. The best methods are baking and broiling. In addition to that, you may want to purchase organic or grass-fed meat as they were raised in a grassland (hence, the name).

Furthermore, if you want to give it up, but miss the taste of it, there are tons of plant-based alternatives to choose from!
