There comes a time when you just don’t want to work out anymore, probably because you don’t see any improvement in your body, or you already achieved what you wanted so there’s no point anymore. But that shouldn’t be the case.

First, the human body differs from person to person. It’s either you’re one of those that take longer to develop, or you’re not hitting the right muscles properly.

Second, if you’re already as fit as you’ve dreamed of, you still need to continue working out because there’s a great chance you’ll go back to where you started.

That said, you should continue what you’ve started. But how do you stay motivated with your workouts? Here are some ways from Robert James on Fitness Republic:

5 Ways to Stay Motivated With Your Workouts

Getting started is one of the hardest things to do when it comes to living a healthier lifestyle. From cutting back on sugar, completely avoiding your favourite jar of candy and snacks, and practically trying out some new sports nutrition supplement you saw on T.V. You’ve done what would seem impossible to most and there is no reason why you shouldn’t congratulate yourself. You really deserve that pat on the back for a job well done. Read more…

Additionally, here are some tips to spice up your sessions from Chalene Johnson’s blog:

Tips for Workout Motivation

Exercise can be a great way to boost motivation in other areas of your life. Daily exercise can create a happy or excited mood, and make you more productive, and energized throughout the day. These benefits are great, but what if you are lacking motivation to work out? It’s hard to apply the benefits of exercise if you aren’t motivated to exercise in the first place! While these tips are specific to exercise, they can also be applied to other areas of your life with a little creativity. Read more…

As mentioned, music is one of the best ways to up your motivation. Studies show that it can help you work harder, boost your athletic performance, and enhance your mood. Its beat can also put you in the mood, make you want to move, and help you keep pace. Plus, it’s a relatively good kind of distraction!

Here’s a pump up playlist to listen to, on Body Rock:

GET MOTIVATED: YOUR ULTIMATE NOVEMBER WORKOUT PLAYLIST

It seems like we’re miles away from summer sun and your drive to workout might be dwindling with the gloom of November skies. Perhaps some great beats will help pump you up and get you through this tough month for fitness. This playlist is all about feeling good, feeling strong and moving forward. So grab your headphones and start bumping to these fiery tracks! Read more…

So to stay motivated with your workouts, you still have to get yourself moving. In a good way, though! Even if this kind of sounds funny, there are lots of ways to trick your own self. It also takes a good mindset – just remember that you’re doing this for yourself.

Another effective trick is to write a journal of your workouts, or motivational quotes in sticky notes, so you can read them when you’re on the verge of giving up.

Decide if you’re going to regret whatever’s going to happen if you skip one or more workout. Always remember why you started, and what’s your goal. I’m pretty sure that’s enough reason to continue what you’re doing.
