NPR talks about “nudging” as a new method to attract consumers to choose healthy options. We’re all familiar with the neatly stacked soda and the tortilla plus chips display in supermarkets.

This is a sales tactic which tends to make goods look interesting to people and it’s easy to reach. Because of the presentation, people feel encouraged to buy these things. We know that this tactic is so effective – there are a lot of food banks around the country that use this strategy.

Healthy Food Bank Hub tells us that in delivering nutrition education, it varies for every person. That’s why they’re sharing their strategies on how to target people and how to involve them in healthy practices.

One of these strategies involves “nudges.” We all choose what we eat because of factors that influence us. It could be due to personal choice and the price.
