Stephen Matthews reports that processed foods may cause cancer. Additives like emulsifiers are included in daily foods like bread and sweets. These in turn, facilitate intestinal tumor growth and inflammation.

Scientists think that these may be the cause of bowel cancer. It appears that cases have increased for the past few years. Emulsifiers alter gut bacteria and this may lead to the production of even more bad bacteria which creates gut imbalance.

Colon cancer and IBDs have a common denominator: gut microbiota alternation is apparent. Changes in microbiota seem to be connected with the colorectal disease. Dr. Emilie Viennois thinks that there might be a strong link between the food additive and the cancer.

They used exact doses to imitate the model of emulsifiers used in processed foods. The effects of additives include inflammation and cancer development.
