The research which was published in the journal, Toxin, found that its main goal is to target receptors which are essential in pain management in humans. This has the possibility of being used as a form of treatment.
Dr Bryan Fry, a researcher from the University of Queensland, says that most species have slow-acting venom that acts like a powerful sedative: you get sleepy before you die. It’s poison works in an instant due to the nature of its prey.
