Stephen Matthews from Daily Mail UK says that scientists have uncovered a startling discovery about eggs. It lowers the risk of stroke by 12%. The study was spearheaded by US scientists and they found that eating eggs every day had no association with coronary heart disease – the leading cause of death globally.

The research team analyzed a host of studies released from a period of 33 years – from 1982 until 2015.  It involved 275,000 participants. The team examined the relationships between egg consumption, coronary heart disease and stroke.

Dr Dominik Alexander, of the EpidStat Institute, US, is the lead researcher of the study.  He claims that further investigation is needed to realize the link between eggs and stroke.

Why Eggs Really Are Good For You: Having Just ONE A Day ‘Reduces The Risk Of Having A Stroke By 12%’

Consuming just one egg a day reduces the risk of stroke by 12 percent, scientists say.

A study, led by US scientists, also shows that eating egg each day had no association with coronary heart disease – the leading cause of death worldwide. Read more…

Ed Cara from Medical Daily reports that the egg has long been treated as the culprit of diseases related to high cholesterol and cardiovascular conditions. However, times have changed. Science is leaning more towards the benefits of eggs and its capacity to decrease the likelihood of stroke.

The results of the study indicate that there is a need to further examine the association of eggs and its ability to lower stroke risk. Dr. Alexander offers a few explanations: he said that eggs have a lot of nutritional benefits and they’re rich in protein.

Are Eggs Good For Health? Eating An Egg A Day Linked To 12 Percent Drop In Stroke Risk

It’s been a long journey back to respectability for the common egg. Once attacked as a leading culprit of high cholesterol and cardiovascular disease, more recent science has found little strong evidence for these claims. Read more…

The Egg Nutrition Center reports that protein and antioxidants could be the ones responsible for regulating inflammation and cholesterol levels in the body. These are potential nutritional factors that should be considered if one is at risk.

A large egg has an excellent nutritional value: 6 grams of protein, vitamins E, D, and A, as well as antioxidants like lutein and zeaxanthin. With these in mind, there’s no excuse not to eat eggs daily.

One Egg Per Day Associated With 12 Percent Reduced Risk Of Stroke

Alexander’s research lends further support to changes in the recently-released 2015 Dietary Guidelines for Americans, which have eliminated dietary cholesterol limits, and now include regular consumption of eggs among lean protein choices. Read more…

It’s a great opportunity to establish the nutritional significance of eggs. This is quite a promising discovery for those who have been under a strict diet due to existing conditions. Let’s remain hopeful that further studies will be able to establish the relationship between cardiovascular diseases and this protein-rich food.
