Beetroot or beet has been long used by ancient Romans to treat fever and constipation. Other traditional medicine uses it to treat anemia, skin problems, and more.

The power of beets come from its colour pigment called betalain, which is a nutrient that helps protects cells from stress. They are also very rich in vitamin C, fibre, potassium, and B vitamins.

So drinking beet juice at the gym can help improve muscle power and recovery. Well, beets in general regulate blood pressure, fight inflammation, boost stamina, detox your  body, and even help fight off cancer. They’re high in fiber, so they’re good for weight loss and overall stomach health. Some studies also show that they can help slow down the progression of dementia.

Beet juice goes well with carrots, celery and cucumber. Aside from juice, you can also eat beets raw, pickled, steamed, or mixed in salads or soups.
