Currently, there are over 1.6 million new cases of cancer in the United States alone, and around 590,000 people will die from the disease. The majority of them are men.

There are over 100 types of cancer – with breast, lung, prostate, colorectal, bladder and leukemia being the most common – so it’s not surprising that the cure is left undiscovered until now. Treatments such as chemotherapy and surgery are available, but the chance of survival is still unsure.

Whether the cure for cancer might accidentally have been found or not, the best we could do now is to prevent the increasing rate. It’s considered a lifestyle disease, often caused by lack of physical activity, unhealthy diet, alcohol and tobacco use, and high body mass, and these factors can be controlled.

Maybe a major lifestyle change is just what we need to fight and prevent it long before it targets our body. For now, let’s just wait until science discovers the most effective cure.
