Ties Between Exercise and Beer

Some people exercise more after indulging in alcohol in order to burn off the calories, and to avoid a flabby belly. In addition to that, some people drink more after working out, as this will serve as the reward. Just think of slurping an ice cold alcohol after pumping your body up!

Is this a natural phenomena? Is there a scientific explanation for this? Well, a new study has found that there are close ties between exercise and beer. Read more in this article written by Gretchen Reynolds on The New York Times:

For many people, working out and alcohol are closely linked. Sports teams and training partners celebrate victories, bemoan defeats or mark the end of training sessions with a beer or three. Beer, in fact, provides a substantial portion of some exercisers’ fluid intake after workouts. Read more…

Some people do not trust these ties between exercise and beer, though. They say it might be because people just want to re-hydrate themselves after a hard workout. Still, it’s nice to know!

Whatever it is, note that it’s important to work out or at least increase your activities after a night of drinking, in order to prevent or lose a flabby belly.
